Wonderfully explained Aaryaman. Thank you very much for this post. Do you by any chance know what role will MATIC play once Ethereum 2 launches? How will MATIC supplement the existing ETH and future ETH2 ecosystem / protocols?

Loved your article. Wish this article would've been posted when MATIC was in its nascent stages. I was lucky to buy some MATIC when it was 1.65 rupees... As of today, Polygon aka MATIC is now a 15 billion dollar company, surpassing all targets.

Can side chain gobble up the main chain? Since side chain is the mirror of main chain..can matic make ether obsolete? Down the line
