Another brilliant piece. Thank you very much for sharing this in-depth overview of AA system. I read that there is one more national stack that Govt is planning to launch and its called National Health Stack. Would love to see you guys to bring a detailed piece on that as well.
Top stuff Aaryaman! Could you clarify if TSPs are allowed to use the data coming out of AAs to help FIUs underwrite? Our do FIUs have to own the underwriting logic and need to do it in-house?
Wasn't sure what you meant by "This means that they can build tools to help FIPs and FIUs connect to AAs or leverage the data that comes in through the AA pipes."
Thanks Rish! We have heard of cases where the TSP accesses and processes user data in memory before deleting it. So no storage of data. This point is a little unclear, but ultimately the FIU is responsible for ensuring the data is protected according to the consent granted by the user.
There are several technology modules that a company must implement to connect to the AA system. This includes the modules for connecting to the system, encrypting/decrypting data, etc. While FIUs and FIPs can build these in-house, they are often purchased as a solution sold by TSPs, who also add tooling to help the FIUs take the raw data and manipulate it for say underwriting or analytics.
Makes sense! I feel that if people want to build on top of the AA ecosystem going the TSP route might be the most feasible as it wouldn't require wait time for regulatory licenses like in the other roles. Are there resources you recommend checking out to learn more about the TSP market in India and look at the current players?
I am eagerly waiting for AA implementations to go mainstream, specifically for the selfish purpose of solving my PFM troubles in a secure manner. Is there any AA based PFM app already in production?
I would have really liked a marketplace perspective on how marketplaces can facilitate credit onboarding between lenders and it's customers (both b2b and b2c) at the time of checkout.
Serves a great foundation to dig out additional details.

Thank you very much Mangesh

Me too, Bhavya! Did you get a chance to check out Fold? They just launched publicly!
Thank you for writing this piece.

Thank you Tarun for reading.
Maybe this post about OCEN will help answer some of those questions around marketplaces facilitating credit? - https://tigerfeathers.substack.com/p/ocen-a-conversation
Great article, and so well (and non-boringly) written! Thanks.
Just replace 'facilitates' with 'felicitates', would you? The mispronunciation is heard too often as it is!
Thank you for the kind words and eagle-eyed discernment! I hadn't noticed that error despite proofreading the piece about seven times!
